The Spirit Works Through My Tummy

I've been seeking the prophet's council and looking for opportunities to seek revelation! And I've found shocking results that.....
The Spirit has been working through my tummy.
This week I was hungry, and was led to McDonald's. I thought I was going for a chocolate shake (and free Wi-Fi), but then my investigator who's been MIA for weeks was ALSO having late night munchies. Saw her, set up an appointment for the next day! ✔ On the reverse effect, sometimes I don't feel the Spirit at all! We had 10 minutes before our dinner and decided to knock some doors. Perusing the area for a street to tract, and getting hangry-- I pull onto an unknown dirt road. We see three houses hidden from society. Garbage, metal scraps, and abandoned shopping carts crowded the tiny pathway. We drove up to the door of an old, sketchy, blood red house; one strong wind away from tumbling down. However, we delighted in the potential of it because the door was already opened! We slowed down, with high hopes that this was the house we were led to.... when an aged, elderly, woolly, half naked man emerged from the humble abode. Fear and horror overcame us as we shriveled and sped away to safety. We decided that what we thought was the Spirit was actually in fact just hunger. Thus-- I'm always working on better following the Spirit and seeking revelation! :) In other news, this week, the unthinkable happened. It was warm! That's right. My sour cream legs touched sunlight as I refused to wear my tights another day. I am weaning myself off my parka. It stays light out sooo late, and it smells like campfires! It's time for summer in the sunniest city in all of Canada! :) (They call Medicine Hat the "Arizona of Canada" ha....nice try Canadians) So thanks for all your warm fuzzy prayers--- I no longer have hypothermia! Here's a follow up from last week!
Our girl Marjorie pulled in clutch. She prayed. Read the scriptures. Came to church. Felt the Spirit. Knew it was true. When I asked if she had prayed about baptism and if she would commit-- she took the hand of her great granddaughter, Kyra, who she had invited to the lesson and said "Yes, I will!" It was like someone was agreeing to a marriage proposal! We all gasped with glee as Kyra (who was just baptized by the elders a month before) said "Grandma you're getting baptized?!?!? :) " it was such a beautiful moment! Then Kyra gave her great grandma some advice on preparing. So tender-- the gospel blesses families!!! It was so heart warming to hear how us showing up at her doorstep was a sign from God that she needed to be a part of His church! We were so excited we called our district leader, Elder Herrera, to which he later texted us the following masterpiece.
"Lines Composed upon Reflection on Marjorie's Baptism. It was a windy day, The day the sisters called. They had some news to say, That made us want to bawl. Their lovely gator friend (Her name is Marjorie) Will make it to the end, Her baptism they'll see. They knocked on every door, They talked and they were brave, And they were ready for, A lady to be saved." :) :)
Truly a great week! We also committed our 9 year-old friend, Tyler, to be baptized! We even found 3 new investigators! #Blessings #Triosdoitbest #queensofmedhat
God really does guide us! Many times I feel like some of the children of Israel. Wandering through the wilderness for 40 years when it's only an 11 day journey. Why does it take me so long to learn the same lessons?! Yet--- all of our experiences and hardships are to prepare us to meet God. I think that its through patience, long suffering, and obedience when we learn the most.
The beloved President Ezra Taft Benson said, "When obedience ceases to be an irritant, and becomes our quest, in that moment, God will endow us with power." I know that I am so happy and that I feel power from God to do His work as I am striving my best to be obedient to his commandments. I love you all very much!
Love,

Meme of the Week: Tummy Edition: (inspired after a true event this a week) When they pull out dessert after a 4 course meal: "Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles." (Job 32:19)
(Sorry for lack of pics, don't hate me. I'm saving them for an upcoming segment that will be called, "Cats in the Hat." so stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen.)
