we got phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #goodbyeflipphone

Last night I had a dream that I started teaching the missionary lessons to Kanye West and Beyonce. In my dream I was like, "Wow, this is going to be the best weekly email I've ever sent home." Unfortunately, I woke up and I have not start teaching Kanye and Beyonce. Sorry to disappoint. They would have made such good gospel music together. And this would have been a legendary weekly.

Anyways, I've been focusing a lot on teaching like the Savior lately- and I found He has a pattern of teaching to the one. So as I was reflecting on my week-- this experience came to my mind because I truly felt there was someone out there, reading my email this week, that is that one person who needs to hear this!

This week I was in church and I took the sacrament bread. I don't know what kind of funky bread it was, but it got stuck in my teeth! It was annoyingly wedged between my molars... My thoughts were consumed with this tiny thing, as my mind raced.... How do I attempt getting this piece of bread out, without looking like a complete medieval barbarian???? How long will it be stuck here? I should have put floss in my bag when I had the thought to. Maybe if I just move my tongue like this... agh! Will I have to surgically remove it? Will I have to wear dentures? Will my mouth smell like bread forever???

I was lost in my own thoughts as they started saying the prayer on the water. I heard the young priest say, "that they do always remember him,"

Immediately, I was humbled, as I was doing something so important, my thoughts were else where. Even in church, during the sacrament, one of the easiest times to remember Jesus Christ, I wasn't focusing on Him.

How often do we become consumed in insignificant things and forget to focus on what matters most? How often are we led into hours aimlessly scrolling online, watching TV, and yet we are too busy to read a chapter of scripture for 5 minutes and to say a 2 minute prayer? How often do we look at the basic builders of testimony as as a a nagging annoyance, like food between our teeth?

When we have that nagging pain in our teeth-- whether that form is the Holy Ghost, your Mom, a friend, or a Canadian missionary encouraging you to do those simple things, don't ignore it, just dooo it! It's no wonder that Christ is the Bread of Life, and that without our daily bread we would die! That bread is what gives us nourishment! Sister Fonda is gluten intolerant... and I can attest that she misses that bread! Hahaha but really, in a spiritual way, we need to spiritually feed ourselves or we'll spiritually starve. Never look at the blessings of the gospel as a burden. The great prophet Alma taught us, "never to be weary of good works." Don't let good things get in the way of more important things. There is always time for the Savior when you make time! As I thought about that piece of bread in my teeth, a reminder to always remember Him, it didn't seem so bad anymore. I got Jesus Christ on my side, and he is always there to help me!

This video I watched this week summed it up perfectly. Way better than I can:
