a fancy story poem i wrote about what happened this week:

We knocked on a door, To teach people more We met a teen and to our delight, He received us- but just not tonight So in a swift manner, I pulled out my planner And just as you'd bet, An appointment was set! We tarried on walking, And then resumed knocking To our great surprise, Another woman was wise! For our presence was received, But a time was not retrieved Her interest became uncertain, As she closed her front curtain We ended that night, Feeling we had done alright. We returned with a lesson to teach, And prayed that they'd listen to us preach But the family was sick and rude, And they made comments that were crude! Eagerly we fled from their home, And mindlessly started to roam, We were led back to that second house, Proceeding, I timidly knocked like a mouse A man opened the door and smiled wide, And shockingly, he let us inside! Asleep on the chesterfield the same woman lay, We entered the room not sure what to say But she heard our shuffling and surely awoke, And we seized the moment- about the scriptures we spoke! The Book of Mormon we started to read, knowing if she heard it, we'd plant a seed. Well the words really rang true, Just as they do for me and you! Thus she's not a Jesus hater, She's our new investigator!!!! Yes, the same lesson I learn again, And now I commit it to pen. God can be confusing, Sometimes even amusing! Awkwardness is alright, As long as you're guided by His light! (this is a true story)
