in honor of the winter olympics behind held exactly 30 years ago in calgary, i included a quote from the infamous movie cool runnings about my life livin in the tundra in the subject line.

SNOWWWWWWWWWW

it dumped a good 18 inches of snow this week. the snow here is so sandy, and when the wind blows it looks like we're in the sahara cause its just like smoooth snow. people have been telling me Medicine Hat is the warmest place in Canada because the natural gas under the city. it was -46 yesterday ;./ thats -50.8 farenheight :( hahaha someone got their car stuck in the snow so me and sister moffett hopped out of our car to go push. after being outside for 15 minutes my ear started piercing so badly and my head felt like it was gonna burst. it still kinda hurts but hopefully no permanent damage lolol. i lost one of my mittens so ive just been wearing socks on my hands hahahahahaa.

# walking week

this week was craaayzayyy. I'll be honest! It was a bit of a struggle. Like for realzies. We had 1 investigator who would meet with us and then this week we dropped her/she dropped us/we broke up temporarily/its complicated/its sad. Me and Sister Moffett were feeling like the master of the vineyard in the Book of Mormon who cries, "what more could we have done for our vineyard?" We were like ooookkkkk we wanna find people to teach, but it is literally unsafe four us to be outside for more than 5 minutes (like said above!!!!) it was in the -30s and -40s all week and we didn't have a car so we were like uh???????????????????????????? WAT DO WE DO!!!!!!!!!!! lots of prayers. lots of disocuragement.

how we look at every door we knock at

At district meeting yesterday, we as a district made goals to help people prepare for baptism. we roleplayed and practiced it. me and sister moffett were pretty in the dumps because everyone had someone in mind to be teaching it to, and me and sister moffett were like, uhhhh we got negative 3 people in mind. lol. but we did it, and we said "we have the faith to put people on date for baptism!!!!"

despite it being bone aching cold, we went out-- having no appointments but ready to do the Lord's work. With a prayer in our heart we visited a family we hadn't seen in forever, who wasn't texting us back, and who we thought had moved. well.

they let us in.

we taught the plan of salvation.

and just like we practiced just hours before, we helped them set a day to prepare themselves to be baptized.

wat

the

heck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

God is just too good. Theres a reason in the Book of Mormon it took Nephi 2 whole chapters to gain the brass plates but only 3 verses to get Ishmael's family to join the journey---- the enduring and long suffering teaches us more-- and helps us to be humbled and grow more than the blessings that are handed over on a silver platter! We were practically teary eyed after our lesson, it is always a true miracle when those we love commit to follow God! We had practiced and put in the effort and showed our faith--- and God heard our prayer because we were diligent and obedient!

its a good life as a missionary!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

love, sister meiners :)
