some miracles happenin out here in the hat!

sister moffett and i at the aquarium aka pet store on pday!

So this week Sister Moffett and I were goin through our area book and tryna find people to teach! There was a teaching record that had one lesson on it from 6 years ago, and the guy was like a pastor of another church. If I was thinking logically I'd be like no, Sister Meiners, don't waste your time going and visiting. But I never think logically so I'm like "I feel good about this one!! Lets try it!!!"

So we go to the house and I'm like uhhh maybe I don't wanna do this anymore??? But then Sister Moffett is a true homie and is like nah WE GOTTA. So I'm like ok ok ok.

We get up to the house and I'm like "hey? are you the Cruz family??" and its a teenage boy and his brother and he's like "no..." and I get so awkward and am like "well who are you.." and they look all puzzled and are like "um. we're the McDonald family...?" and I'm like "uh ok. well we were looking for the Cruz family. Well anyways..! We're missionaries, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.. would you want to hear a message about Jesus?" (legit the worst door approach of my life. i was more smooth my first day on the mission than in that moment) and he's like "uh, let me ask my mom." hahahhaa so the teenager goes and asks and the younger brother is like "mom!! i wanna hear a message about Jesus!!" and the moms like "should we let them in?" and he's like "yes please!!!!" and she talks to us for a sec and then is like "ok come in."

WAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. no one ever lets us in RIGHT THEN.

and then we had like THE BEST LESSON EVER! we taught the Restoration and why we have the Book of Mormon and she was so into it! I asked her if she believed Joseph Smith could have seen Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ (she's catholic) and she's like "yes absolutely" LIKE WATTTTT! And she even prayed when we left and was like "thank you for sending these nice ladies to us" LIKE she realizes we're servants of God! And her son was soo pumped about what we taught and was super into it too!

We were so pumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right after that, our zone leaders call us. We had gone tracting and met this guy, and he said his sister would be interested. He looked YSA age, so we passed the house off to the elders. They called us to tell us they had just taught that girl and her family and picked them up as investigators!!!!

6 investigators in the course of an hour!!!! We were all getting excited for each other and were like YEAAAAHHHHHHH! the joys of missionary work! :)

also super cool that God inspired Sister Moffett and I to go to that house even tho it wasn't promising on paper-- a new and prepared family had moved in!

So life is good. In Lethbridge and Taber there were so many mormons, its super refreshing to actually be able to contact and tract and stuff again!! I love it here!!!
