my life in Al-burrr-ta :)

It's been a jam packed weird week. But I'm starting to sense that this just a continuous pattern in my life.

Zone Conference:

This week started at zone conference! No neighboring elderly home caught on fire this time, so it was pretty low-key. It was cool tho, cause these elders were like "Sister Meiners we just wanted to tell you that we started teaching Maureen!!" and I looked at them and was so confused who they were, and who Maureen was.... And then it clicked!! A while back Sister Follett and I had to run to Walmart, not on p-day, and not even in our proselyting clothes to get something... But someone was like "hey sisters I have someone for you to teach!!" Man. Our little black badges go along way. Haha and so we called the assistants and gave this lady as a referral to those random elders. It was pretty cool, because they serve in a place literally way smaller than Taber, and they would have never found this lady cause she's on a farm in the middle of nowhere!! They were so excited and grateful tho! So I'm going to have to tell President that shopping truly is an effective way to do missionary work.

my old zone!! all back together in the south of the mission!!!

zone conf w/ Sister Carillo!!!

Then: General Conference!!! I'm not gonna butcher the eloquent addresses by giving condensed knock-off summaries-- cause I don't wanna take away from the wisdom within them. So if ya haven't listened to conference, you can repent, and do so now @lds.org.

One thing I will share however is as I was watching with an older lady-- a quote was said by Russell M. Nelson that really fired her up. So much so, that she shot her fist in the air with vigor and exclaimed "YES! Yes yes yes!!!!!" I thought-- man! If only all of us heeded prophetic council like that. Excited at ways we can learn and be better, and humble enough to heed the council!

Lastly, it snowed! A lot. Idk, like a foot? They were talking metric system and I couldn't convert fast enough in my head.

But our plans fell through so we suited up and went to shovel! It was cool because they were so touched we helped them, that they came and shoveled another house with us!

Here's a few dramatic pics of me in the snow lolol. Like Canadians cancelled school today..... thats how bad it is!!

It got me thinking about how that's what we are to do as missionaries! Christ led by a perfect example and led us to have a desire to do good too! I love inviting others to be more like the Savior in action and in spirit! :)

Among many things, here are some of my highlights:

  • I saw 3 American flags this week, flying high in the sky.

  • I played some crazy competitive games of conference bingo, & I won.

  • I accidentally annihilated Sister Follett by turning on a sprinkler that was actually used for extreme irrigation. She got pretty wet.

  • We went to the chapel and stumbled into a youth stake dance. There we were waved at and greeted as royalty.

  • A lady made me cheesecake cake because I said I like cheesecake.

  • I petted a goat. And heard a rooster crow, within 5 minutes of each other.

xoxoxoox!!!!!

proof of existence:

"there's a Wendy's in Vauxhaul" hmmm................

o ya, so taber isn't just known for Corn, but they have this huge beet factory here where they process them. i feel like Dwight Schrute because I just talk about beets with everyone. here's a majestic pic of me with what they call a "small pile" of beets.

this dog tried attacking me but when i pulled out the camera it looked all innocent
