Hi!!!!!!!!!!!

So last week we went to Waterton for p-day and so i'll include some of those pics!

Its actually really sad because just an hour after we left the whole town had to be evacuated for smoke and forest fires. There's been hundreds of forest fires here all summer so its been prettty smokey :(

This week was super amazing! So many miracles!! We were able to pick up two new investigators in 24 hours! :) And they're both super solid and interested in learning more! So that was the best!!!! But I'll talk more about them some other time.

Spiritual Thought:

Although I usually share a quick spiritual thought-- this week I was particularly impressed to break from my normal jubilant routine and share an experience that happened. I feel like it really embodies a lesson I continue to learn all the time on my mission

This weeks uplifting message is in the form of two events that have taken place with one of my beloved less-active members I work closely with. As a background, this wonderful and tender convert has lived a life of anguish and sorrows woven throughout her adolescence. As a result she suffers from numerous severe mental disorders. With such a sensitive soul-- I like to believe that God gives this sweet woman extra care and guidance.

Anyways, we came over one night this week and she told us a few of her deeply personal life stories of how she had been severely abused and sexually assaulted by her father. As tears glistened down her face, she told us of how she didn't have a relationship with her father, how she was misunderstood, and how she felt like she was too unworthy to even pray to her Heavenly Father.

Her feet had been aching and I offered to rub them. As this hour went by I sat at her feet and testified to her about her Heavenly Father's love for her. How no matter how far down we go, there is no depth that Christ's light does not reach. I sat by her feet, and I truly in that moment knew that I was a representative of Jesus Christ. For surely, He washed his disciples feet and He served them, while always giving that glory to His Father.

That night, at this woman's lowest of lows, she finally accepted our offer to help her clean her home. Something that for so long she had insisted she didn't need help with, because that would mean she's "weak." But a few days later we came back and began cleaning. She was so cute-- she tried her hardest and even bought new dishes, showing a sincere effort to compensate for her months of filth. As my companion and I worked in that kitchen-- we truly transformed the place. There had been so much mold, grease, spilled coffee crumbs, fruit flies, and ashes that covered her counters, but after a few hours, it was once again spotless and clean. After months of living this way, the moment she humbled herself and asked for help, it was able to be made spotless and clean.

These experiences left me to ponder this as an analogy of our total dependence on the Savior. When we are at our lowest point, feeling guilt and shame and sorrow, Christ is listening to our pleadings. He is reverently at our feet, and guiding us back not to our earthly father or any others, but always to our Heavenly Father. And no matter how hard we on our our would try, no matter how many new dishes we buy, we cannot be cleansed until we humbly ask our Savior for forgiveness and sincerely repent!

Then comes the sweetness, the hope, the change. As this endearing woman peeked her eyes into the kitchen, she marveled at the change. Tears swelled in her eyes as she said "You have no idea what this means to me. And you will never truly know how grateful I am."

And this experience, was truly, just a glimpse into the renewing and cleansing power that comes from the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Love you all!
