HIIIII!
So I'm sure you've heard about me in the news lately because a bunch of people have been emailing me about hearing about me in the news (Jk, it was actually just my mom and dad.....) BUT YA....
Story time!
So we had a zone conference on Tuesday with like a bagillion missionaries and during the middle of our testimony meeting, all the sudden a guy runs in and is like 'hi uh excuse me the old folks home behind u is burning. we need ur help." and then BAMMMM every missionary in the chapel pops up and starts sprinting so eagerly to help!! i mean... all we do as missionaries is service and helping people so we were like omg yes i was born for this *service instinct kicks in*

the fire ;(
And we run outside and they weren't kidding, there was a HUGE FIRE. And like literally, a million old people everywhere so sad and confused. They were able to get out the fire pretty fast, but still about 25% of the complex burned. We just let everyone come into the stake center right next to the home and around 150 people evacuated there... (but there was way more people cause firefighters and stuff) Elders carried elderly into the church in their arms, and sisters came around giving water, food, and tissues. It was super crazy. So that ended our zone conference.....
But really, its like once in 6 months (if that) that there are ever that many missionaries in one place at one time. It was 5 zones! And the fact the fire was right there, literally bordering our church was a miracle we could help. And we had all this left over food from our lunch that we could give to them. Craziest part? The conference was actually supposed to be in Taber, 45 minutes from Lethbridge where it was held. The fact that it was changed last minute to be there, on that day, at that time, where 80 missionaries would be available and accessible to help is insane. Coincidence? I think not. :) #miracles. And a lady came up to me and asked me if she could interview me, but I can't actually comment, so I directed her to my mission president who was in the news articles :) So by association, I'm famous.
In other eventful news... It was Pioneer Day in a little town I cover here called Barnwell! There was a very Canadian pancake breakfast and we helped serve at it and stuff. Like 500 people showed up. I didn't even think there were that many people that lived in Barnwell.... but apparently?? Anyways, the day consisted of very rural activities. I rode on a tractor.

Did I say I'm driving a car? I actually just drive this thing around.
Also, they let us sit on a hay wagon in a parade #royalty.

Royalty in the parade
At the end of the day seemingly millions of children on the hay ride asked us to join them. They nicknamed me "Sister Marvelous" --- no big deal. And then we took a selfie.

A Mennonite family we've been teaching! so so cute :)

So we got these wonderful white boxes installed in our cars that tell us to slow down and monitor aggressive driving hehe. We named ours Ursella. When they got installed, my companion handed me the keys and said, "you can drive now." So i'm now driving! whoop whoop!
Ah yes, lastly we had exchanges with my good pal Sister Lane :) She was in Calgary with me before, so we go way back :) She trained my trainer, so she's my "grandma" hehehehe :)

Grandma and Grandbaby. :)
