Where am I........??

Ok-- so this past week I was transferred! I went from bustling city life and hectic traffic, to a TINY litttle town in Southern Alberta called Taber! It's known for it's corn, so that's pretty fun hahaha.

This place is just adorable.

Everyone lives on a farm, and has pet goats and pigs and horses and chickens.... I tell them I'm from Washington, D.C. (I get tired of explaining where Maryland is...) and they're all like "OOOOOO it's pretty different here!" hahaha. My first day here we helped do service at a farm. They instructed me to collect eggs from a chicken coup. They open this tiny little shack and 200 chickens come out. And they're like "ok all ya do is jus stick ur hand under that lil chicken and grab the eggs." And I'm thinking, you want me to do whaaaaaaat?????? BUT. I didn't want to be some city girl, so I reached my hand under the rump of that chicken and I collected 76 eggs. I also held a baby goat on a separate occasion this week.

But the people here are so sweet. It's everyone's mission in life here to get me fat. Every time we go to someone's house they say with a twinkle in their eye, "Can we get you something to eat??" we politely tell them we just ate! :) And then they bring us a whole meal out and the most sugary dessert you could imagine. And then they just watch you indulge.....

But it's pretty weird finding people here and stuff cause no one has addresses. I'm like "Where do you live?" and they're like, "Ah, just around the corner, over the hill, 18 kilometers going straight and we're number 984763." And I look at the address book or directory and its just numbers.... and I'm like, huh???? But I'm sure I'll figure it out soon :)

So ya. I'm just chillin here in Canada in the middle of nowhere.
