OK this week was JAM PACKED. Lets get to the juicy stuff. Sorry if it's long......

MAX WAS BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember a few weeks ago when I was shocked that Max committed to be baptized???? Well, let me just tell ya, that man is amazing! When I first met Max.... I did not see this day ever coming hahaha! BUT. He has changed sooo much! He has really had a desire to repent-- to stop smoking, to change his life around, to read the whole Book of Mormon, like dang! He's the best! :)

When we taught Max he was always like, "oh no, you're gonna get me dunked!" And we were like, yes Max, yes we will. Hahahaha, he had been taught by this elder like 4 years ago that Max just loved! And he'd always say he wouldn't get baptized unless that one elder did. Sooooo, we arranged that. Stalked the elder, got his number, got him to book a flight to Canada, and BAM, he baptized Max on Saturday!!! It was so beautiful cause we were all just crying! Max, the elder, Cara, me... just weeping! Max testified through tears that he hadn't always been a religious person-- but that through the LDS faith he found a light he never knew he was missing. AH! What a happy day!!!!!!!

Max's baptism!!! :)

After his baptism I asked him how he felt. "It's hard to explain, it's just like butterflies. God keeps tickling me!" LOVE that!!!!!! God truly does tickle us and tells us what is good-- he has told us of the peace he now has. That's why I do it! Man, I just love seeing people change for good! These are true feelings of joy...!!! :) #soblessed #lovemymission

Other good stuff:

We also went to the temple this week! Our mission made this goal to basically try and be more effective as missionaries, and if we did it, we'd go to the temple as a mission! So this past week we went to the temple as a mission! It was so fun! :) The temple is just the best-- I feel so much peace there.

Our zone at the temple! :)

We taught English class this week!!!! As missionaries, (typically in foreign countries) we teach English cause lets be honest everyone wants to learn English. And then we can be sneaky and incorporate Jesus in their vocabulary and stuff! And in Canada, tons of people are immigrants.

Usually the Mandarin speaking missionaries teach the ESL class, but this week we did! We worked on tongue twisters and idioms and conversation! It was so sweet. There was this lady Tina I was working with. Tina is from Hong Kong but her English is great! After our lesson, she gives me chocolates and apples as a gift for teaching her! I was like awwww so sweet! Thanks! We told the Mandarin elders later and they were like "Wait did you eat it??" and I was like "uhh yeah??" (It's fancy chocolate. Why wouldn't I eat it??) And they were like "That's her Buddhist sacrifice."

Part of Buddhism is sacrificing food to Buddha, (but Buddha doesn't eat the food....haha) so they feel wrong eating their Buddhist sacrifice so they just give it to the Mormon missionaries right before it expires... cause we don't believe in Buddha..... hahahahahaha so basically I feel kinda guilty cause I ate a Buddhist sacrifice this week........The things people give us to eat.....lol

We also went on exchanges week! I was with Sister Carillo! She is from Mexico and she is so funny. We bought ice cream for our companions right before we switched back and our companions were soo late! And the ice cream was dripping! So we didn't want it to go to waste...! So we drove to our mission presidents house to give one to him (we were like 2 minutes from his house lol) but he didn't answer.... It was pretty funny though cause i was just chillin with 5 ice cream cones hahaha.

Sister Carillo and I with all our ice cream hahahaha

Sarith passed the sacrament this week!!! EEEEEEK! He looked so sweet, smiling at everyone he passed it to. Exercising his priesthood :) Love seeing him progress in the church! He didn't even have anyone push him! He is just so adorable! After sacrament meeting, we gave all our boy recent converts ties! They were pumped and were all tryna figure out how to put them on!!

Our recent converts and them wearing their new ties!!!! :)

Sr. Williams and I with our six convert friends

Lastly----- Sister Williams is probably getting transferred this week, which means I'm all done training! I'm a big girl now. Sister Williams was such a fun companion and I'm gonna miss her!!!

A 'mother' holding her 'baby' at dusk. #RIPWilliams&Meiners

Tune in next week for my new companion!! :)

I'm very impressed if ya made it to the end of this email. #truehomies

Sarith had a surprise for us. He drew our faces. Literally gonna frame this forever and never take it down. #skills

When we get taken out for burritos for Cinco de Mayo! #wemadetheirsnapchat
