My "mom" welcoming me!!

HEY! I'm in Canada!!

Also, Happy Family Day!!! We don't believe in President's Day here, so we have family day!

I arrived safely, and my companion is Sister Williams. She's the cutest.

I am serving just east of downtown Calgary!

It's pretty ghetto here, and everyone tells me its the sketchiest part of the mission, but I love it! People are pretty.... interesting. A lot of people just like talking to us cause they're lonely, and they show us their pets, or they play us songs on the guitar, or call us and tell us they want to just hang out... And we have to remind them we're missionaries.

They live humble and crazy lives. One of our investigators, Sarith, was actually shot at the mall behind our apartment. He is paralyzed, and it's so sad. But he told us this week that meeting with us is what keeps him from being depressed. It's been so cool.

And before you all ask, its actually NOT that cold here! In this area of Alberta, they have these things called chinooks, which are like warm winds from the mountains. So it was literally 20 degrees C when I got here! Idk what that is in F, but its warm!! But the chinook passed, but its just like normal cold, nothing crazy.

My first Canadian snowfall!

All in all, I love this place! I knocked on one door, and 3 little Filipino children saw us and ran and gave us hugs. Those are the moments I live for! I love the diversity and everything these crazy Canadians do!

A strange woman told me to take a picture with her hairless cat

Love,

Sister Meiners
